Kapak Ayam Madu a.k.a. Grilled Honey Chicken Wings are not just any wings. These sweet and spicy chicken wings have a vibrant red color and a smoky flavor that’s so addictive.

Najah, from Malaysia, sent me this awesome recipe. She shared that Kapak Ayam Madu is a special treat she enjoys during Ramadan. Her family loves it so much that they snack on it in the car on the way home, often before the wings even make it to the dinner table! That’s how you know they’re good :)

This dish is all about that sweet and spicy flavor that makes Malaysian food so special. The honey creates a sticky glaze that balances out the kick from the chili powder, and the smoky charcoal flavor (I actually used my air fryer) adds another amazing layer. And that color? It’s not just for looks; it’s part of the experience!

This recipe is surprisingly easy, especially if you have an air fryer. The overnight marinade makes the chicken super tender, and the air fryer gives them a delicious, crispy char. If you love dishes with a sweet and savory kick, you need Kapak Ayam Madu in your life. I promise it’ll be your new favorite way to eat wings.

Let me know if you try these! And a big thanks to Najah for sharing her recipe and a little piece of Malaysia with us.

For wings

  • Wash the chicken wings and drain until dry⁣.
