10 Toppings for Hot Dogs to Try

So I wondered, if you had a plain ol’ hot dog in a plain ol’ bun, what do hot dog lovers around the world use as toppings? I asked 10 people from 10 countries and here is what they said:

BRAZIL

“Top it with a mixture of mayo, canned sweet corn and peas, then some grated cheese, and the last layer is stick potatoes. It’s a very crunchy bite.”

FRANCE

“My favorite bakery purchase for lunch as a teenager was what we call the ‘hot dog à la française’. Instead of a hot dog bun, we use a baguette to which we add grainy mustard, bechamel, and emmental cheese. Then we put all this under the broiler until it becomes this cheesy, melty goodness. It’s pretty indulgent.”
