Anissa Rivière grew up in San Diego where she spent every Friday afternoon with her grandma, who taught her how to paint. She got her BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Today she works full time as a painter and freelance home goods designer in New York City. Anissa describes her art as an evolving mixed media exploration of small moments and the feelings they elicit. She particularly loves layering gouache over marker and pen, but am currently also exploring oil painting on wood panels. She sees herself as a bit of an “indoor” person, and loves the way that the objects in a home can create an atmosphere that’s so much more than just a collection of inanimate things.
