Avocado Tikkis

Ingredients

For tikkis

  • 2 very ripe/overripe avocados
  • ½ an onion finely chopped (save some for garnish)
  • fresh cilantro finely chopped (save some for garnish)
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ cup all purpose flour more if needed
  • 4 Tbsp cornstarch more if needed

For serving

  • tamarind chutney
  • mint or coriander chutney
  • curd/yogurt
  • aloo bhujia
  • chat masala

Instructions

  • Mix all tikki ingredients together and form round, flat shaped patties.
  • Shallow fry/ pan fry them with oil until golden brown all over.
  • Serve as tikki chaat. On a plate, place the tikkis, pour over tamarind and mint chutney, curd and some aloo bhujia and chat masala along with cilantro leaves and fresh chopped onions.
