Birchermüesli

Ingredients

  • 400 g plain or fruit yogurt
  • 2-3 Tbsp granola
  • 2-3 Tbsp oats
  • 2 Tbsp chopped hazelnuts or almonds
  • honey or sweetener of your liking
  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple
  • 400 g berries or other seasonal fruit

Instructions

  • Mix the yogurt, the granola and the oats in a bowl. Sweeten it to your own taste with honey or other sweetener.
  • Cut the banana in half lengthwise and then chop thin slices - mix in immediately to prevent the banana from getting brown.
  • Finely grate the apple - mix in immediately to prevent the apple from getting brown.
  • Mix in the berries or chop your seasonal fruit thinly and mix in.
  • It's best to prepare the Birchermüesli in the evening and eat it the morning after for all the flavors to really combine. Put some granola or chopped nuts on top of it right before you eat it for some extra crunch.

Notes

You can use any kind of fruit just never ever use pineapple or kiwi because they make the Birchermüesli very bitter because they react with the yogurt.
