Trisha’s oatmeal is right up my alley; savory, spicy, and packed full of veggies!

Masala Oats is a savory Indian oatmeal recipe that transforms a simple bowl of oats into a delicious, spice-packed comfort meal. This dish combines the heartiness of oats with the bold, nostalgic flavors of Maggi seasoning—a favorite in Indian kitchens. It’s a quick and satisfying way to enjoy a warm meal that’s both nourishing and bursting with taste.

To make Masala Oats, rolled or quick oats are cooked with water and a Maggi instant noodle seasoning packet, infusing every bite with aromatic spices. Fresh vegetables like peas and spinach add texture, color, and natural sweetness, while the oats absorb all the savory flavors, creating a creamy, masala-rich base.

What truly elevates this dish are the toppings. A drizzle of golden ghee adds richness, while crispy fried onions bring a satisfying crunch. Fresh cilantro brightens the flavors, and a spoonful of chili crisp or chili oil adds the perfect spicy finish.

Masala Oats can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner—it’s as versatile as it is flavorful. Whether you’re craving a cozy meal on a rainy day or a quick fix after work, this Indian oatmeal delivers comfort in every spoonful. Perfectly balanced between wholesome and indulgent, Masala Oats captures the essence of Indian home cooking with a modern twist.
