  • 1 pack Samyang Buldak stew flavor noodles
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp mirin
  • 1-2 scallions chopped
  • 1 Tbsp powered dashi/hondashi dissolved in ¼ cup water
  • nori strips for serving, optional

Instructions

  • Boil the noodles until al dente (around one minute shy of the recommended time).
  • Rinse in cold water, then let sit in ice water while you make the sauce.
  • Combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl along with a a dab of the instant noodle sauce paste.
  • Put the chilled noodles on a plate, optionally with some strips of nori. Take a chopstick-full of noodles, dip in the sauce, then eat the noodles.
  • The sauce is potent so dial it back with water if it's too salty! You can also put ice in it to keep it cold while also slowly diluting it, all are valid!
