Rougail Tomates

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 birds eye chilis
  • 1 tsp salt
  • makrut lime or regular lime
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 2 Tbsp chives finely chopped
  • cooked rice, fried egg, and/or avocado slices for serving

Instructions
 

  • In pestle and mortar, crush bird chilies with salt and the zest of a kaffir (or regular) lime.
  • Grate tomatoes on a grater, transfer to a bowl.
  • Mix the chili/makrut lime paste, oil, and chives inside the tomato.
  • Serve as an accompaniment to rice, egg, and/or avocado.
