Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 1-2 granny smith apples you will want to make 8 good chunks of apples
  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • ½ cup sugar plus an extra ⅓ cup
  • ½ Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp butter plus extra for baking dish
  • 12 oz can mountain dew
  • vanilla ice cream for serving, optional

Instructions
 

  • Butter a baking dish.
  • Peel, core, and cut apples into 8 chunks (one chunk per crescent roll).
  • Roll one chunk apple in a crescent roll (lay apple on wide side and roll up like you would the roll). Line up in your prepared baking dish.
  • Mix together ⅓ sugar and cinnamon to make cinnamon sugar. Sprinkle this over the dumplings.
  • Cream butter and remaining ½ cup sugar together and plop in between dumplings.
  • Crack open soda and pour along edges of the baking dish.
  • Bake at 350℉ for 45-55 minutes, depending on your oven.
  • Serve warm topped with ice cream if desired.
